Knights of Columbus Seminarian Support

Council 9238 proudly participates in the Refund Support Vocations Program (RSVP). Under this program, councils or assemblies agree to make an annual contribution of $500 or more to an individual seminarian to help with his expenses. More information can be found here regarding the RSVP program.

Council 9238 supports the following two seminarians.

Fred Tucker

Mundelein Seminary (transferring to)

1000 E. Maple Ave. Mundelein, IL 60060

Fred was born the seventh of eleven children to a Protestant minister.  After completing his homeschool education, Fred joined the Navy where he served as a Nuclear Machinist’s Mate for nine years.  He converted to Catholicism in 2016, and served as a Sacristan, Lector, and Extraordinary Minister at St. Mary Star of the Sea in Port Townsend and later as an altar server at Our Lady Star of the Sea in Bremerton.  Fred completed his 4th year at Mount Angel Seminary and is furthering his studies at Mundelein Seminary in Illinois.  Fred spends his free time riding his motorcycle, hiking, and fishing.  He is excited to continue discerning his vocation at seminary.

Fred wrote the council the following thank-you letter in October of 2023.

David Do

Mount Angel Seminary

1 Abbey Drive St. Benedict, Oregon 97373

The oldest of three, David grew up in a Catholic family.  He was an altar server from 2nd grade through senior year, and then became the parish Pianist.  Participating in Mass, David feels the presence of God’s love and a true sense of joy and desires to serve others and bring people closer to Christ.  His home parish is St. Mary in Marysville, WA.  Since the pandemic began, David felt God calling him on a new path so he prayed more asking God to help him understand His will.  After over a year and a half of careful discernment, David became a seminarian in 2021 and is very grateful for our Knights of Columbus Council’s continued prayers and support as he continues in his third year of seminary.
