Knight of the Month

For February 2025, the Knights of Columbus Council 9238 is pleased to announce that Brother Randy Florendo has been honored as Knight of the Month. Brother Randy played a crucial role in organizing and executing the council's Coats for Kids drive for the past two years. In 2024, with the generous support of an anonymous donation, Council 9238 was able to provide 196 coats to children in the peninsula who needed warm winter clothing. In addition to being an active Knight, Randy is a military veteran who has recently separated from service, and he is also the proud owner of a new custom apparel business.

Family of the Month

In February 2025, the Knights of Columbus Council 9238 is proud to honor the Garetto family—Dr. Lawrence (Larry) Garetto, his wife Denise, and their daughter Elizabeth—as the Family of the Month. Larry is a highly involved member of the Catholic Church, both within St. Nicholas and beyond. He leads a team of editors who work on Living Space, a website that provides in-depth scriptural commentaries on the daily Mass readings. In addition, Larry serves as a Lector and is a dedicated member of both St. Nicholas’ Knights Council 9238 and Assembly 2501. During parish events or Knights activities, one can always find his daughter, Elizabeth, volunteering right alongside him. The Garetto family is truly a blessing to Parish Family 52.
