Knight of the Month

Council 9238 is thrilled to bestow the honor of April 2025 Knight of the Month upon Dave Tyler. Dave has been a cornerstone of the Knights of Columbus since the early 1990s, and his contributions are nothing short of legendary. As the proud father of three daughters and five grandchildren, Dave's family alone is a testament to his legacy.

From the moment he joined the Knights, Dave revolutionized the council’s meal-themed events. His unparalleled leadership has transformed the annual Harvest Dinners, the Priest Appreciation Dinners, the annual Gig Harbor Gig Fest Knights food booth, and the immensely popular monthly Knights Breakfasts into events that are looked forward to every year. Without Dave’s visionary guidance and tireless dedication, these gatherings wouldn’t be what they are today.

We eagerly anticipate many more years of Dave’s unparalleled leadership in the kitchen, knowing that each event under his direction will set a new standard of excellence. Thank you, Dave, for your extraordinary service and your indomitable spirit!

Family of the Month

Council 9238 is pleased to honor the family of Carlos and Kitty Torres as April’s Family of the Month. This recognition comes as a testament to their unwavering dedication and invaluable contributions to both the council and the broader community.

Carlos is a cherished and active member of Council 9238, where he serves as the council’s Ministry Liaison. His role has been instrumental in fostering connections and ensuring seamless communication within the ministry. Kitty, equally committed, is a member of the Ladies Guild, where she plays a significant role in supporting the council's initiatives and activities.

Beyond their involvement in the council, Carlos and Kitty have made significant contributions to the popular Rescue Project held at St. Nicholas, where they have both served as facilitators. Their dedication to this important initiative has had a profound impact on the community, providing support and guidance to many.

Their commitment to their faith is evident as both Carlos and Kitty attend weekly Mass and Bible study at St. Nicholas. Their presence and assistance are felt throughout the parish, always stepping in to help wherever needed. Carlos’s dedication extends further as he has been a part of the That Man is You men's ministry since its inception and has served as an OCIA sponsor, guiding others on their spiritual journeys.

The council, and St. Nicholas parish, are truly blessed to have the Torres family as members. Their selfless service, strong faith, and active participation have made a lasting impression on all who have had the pleasure of knowing them. It is with great admiration and gratitude that we celebrate Carlos, Kitty, and their family's contributions this April.
